Freeland Gardening Club is a very friendly and successful club with over 80 members and is led by an enthusiastic committee.
It was formed to promote interest in gardening and horticulture in general.
Membership is open to anyone interested in gardening on payment of a joining fee of £5 and an annual subscription fee of £15 (junior members are welcome free).
Visitors are welcomed at £4.00 per meeting.
There is a programme of talks, discussions, demonstrations and visits to places of horticultural interest, and numerous other Club activities are promoted as appropriate events arise.
We meet regularly on the fourth Monday of most months, except when the date coincides with a Bank Holiday. There is no meeting in December and the August meeting is a social event. The Club meets in Freeland Hall at 7.30 p.m.
Meetings consist of talks or demonstrations followed by a social time for refreshments. There is a Bring and Buy Stall and proceeds are donated to local charities.

The Club participates in local community events: Some members produce flower arrangements for St Mary’s Church Annual Flower Festival while others maintain the Village Pump at the Green and decorate it with seasonal flowers.
We have an on-going spring bulb planting project with thousands of bulbs now enhancing the roadside throughout the Village and around the flower beds of the new Freeland Hall.

The Club also had a very enjoyable visit to Kew Gardens in September 2019. Besides the many plants on display, there were large glass flower-like exhibits in the greenhouses and around the grounds:
Due to the Pandemic, no meetings were held in 2020 but it is hoped that the intended schedule of events for that year shown below will be carried forward to 2022
